Wunan were thrilled to welcome the Hon. Linda Burney MP to Kununurra this month, where she visited the KNX Community Hostel to meet participants of the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) Jobs, Land, and Economy Program, which has created 300 new jobs in Community Development Program (CDP) regions.
This initiative focuses on local job creation and successfully transitions participants into paid employment. With the support of Job Pathways, participants are contributing across Wunan's enterprises like the KNX Community Hostel, Lily Lagoon Resort Kununurra, and Wunan Maintenance Services.
Ian Trust, Chair of Wunan Foundation, and Lawford Benning, Chair of MG Corporation, along with MG Corporation's Director and staff, also joined us, highlighting the collaborative effort across local organisations in supporting Indigenous employment.
We thank Ms. Burney, the Australian Government, and all stakeholders involved for their support in advancing sustainable Indigenous employment pathways in the Kimberley.
