Choose Your Future
The Choose Your Future program is a unique initiative aimed at empowering Aboriginal families to take control of their children’s education and well-being. It is specifically targeted towards families with children aged 4-8 years old who are in their formative years at school.
The program aims to achieve several key objectives, including improving parent participation in their children’s educational readiness and well-being, improving student school attendance, improving educational outcomes for students, and improving parent access to relevant services.
One of the key ways that the program seeks to achieve these goals is by building parent capacity through educational sessions. These sessions are designed to equip parents with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to support their children’s education and well-being.
The Choose Your Future program has exceeded its original goal of 10 Aboriginal students who are either self-referred or referred from Wunan programs. These children will be carefully selected based on their educational needs and the support that they require.
Overall, the Choose Your Future program is an important initiative that has the potential to make a significant positive impact on the lives of Aboriginal families and their children. By empowering parents to take an active role in their children’s early education and well-being, the program aims to create a brighter future for the next generation of Aboriginal children.
