Wunan’s Indigenous Money Mentor – Moneysmart Weeks Outsanding Individual Achievement Award Winner

Cherie McAdam (Wunan’s Indigenous Money Mentor and author of The Moneybird series of books) (fare left) was awarded the Outstanding Individual Achievement Award at a ceremony in Sydney on Monday 2 September 2013.

MoneySmart Week is designed to encourage Australians to take simple steps to make a positive difference to their money health. It is an independent not-for-profit initiative involving over 100 organisations from the private, public and community sectors.  The Judges had the following to say about Cherie:-

“Cherie is an outstanding practitioner and creator of financial literacy education and information. The Judges applaud her passion for financial literacy and her innovative approach to connecting with her local Aboriginal community.

Her book, the ‘Money Bird’, is a highly effective example of culturally appropriate education. The Judges are pleased to see that it is gaining the recognition it deserves.

Cherie has demonstrated strong leadership qualities in her community and the Judges wish her all the best for her future work”.
