Wunan welcomes first Indigenous CEO

The Wunan Board of Directors have announced the appointment of Jim Lewis as new CEO for the organisation following an extensive search process.

A Gija man, Jim grew up in Wyndham and has strong family and professional connections throughout the region. He played a key role in working with government in developing the East Kimberley Development Package which forms part of the Ord Expansion. Jim operated his own business that has been a key contributor to training and employment of local Indigenous and non- Indigenous people. His son Joshua will continue to manage the business. Jim is also a co-opted Director on the board of Aboriginal Legal Services of Western Australia Limited.

Mr Trust is excited about Mr Lewis’ appointment and is confident he will continue to take the organisation forward in particularly with economic investment.

Mr Lewis said “I am thrilled to be appointed this role. Having been involved with the Wunan board over the past few years it’s great to be involved in the operational side of the organisation and to develop exciting opportunities that are imminent”.
