The Wunan Foundation is a 100% Indigenous owned not-for-profit organisation based in Kununurra WA. Wunan’s purpose is to ensure that Aboriginal people in the East Kimberley enjoy the capabilities and opportunities necessary to make positive choices leading to independent and fulfilling lives; essentially, to have dreams and a real chance of achieving them.
Based in Kununurra (East Kimberley) and reporting directly to the Executive General Manager of Wunan, the Manager of Early Childhood & Family Support will oversee the delivery of its early childhood learning and development services across the region.

Key Selection Criteria

Demonstrated understanding and/or skills in:

• Cultural competency;
• Capacity to lead, supervise and support the work of a team;
• Effective oral and written communication;
• Capacity to plan and deliver community services to a high professional standard;
• The ability to think strategically and be outcome focused;
• Capacity to engage the local community;
• Ability to promote participation by service users;
• Ability to collect and analyse service usage data;
• Capacity to report on service performance to a professional standard;
• Relevant previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people;
• Understanding of community development and capacity building principles and;
• Ability to work collaboratively with other service providers and funding bodies.

Key Duties

• Ensuring KPIs are being achieved or exceeded;
• Ensuring Team Leaders are managing and reporting their programs within agreed time-frames;
• Maximise service utilisation rates;
• Effective utilisation strategies;
• Staff recruitment, induction and performance management;
• Professional development.
