Wunan Day Staff Awards

14 December 2018

Wunan held their annual Wunan Day in September, the event is a day for as many of Wunan’s 145 strong team to come together and reflect on their organisational aims and objectives, work on building their team and recognising the contributions and achievements of some of their team members.

Awards were given out to team members who were identified as displaying Wunan’s Values in undertaking their work.   This year’s nominees and recipients were:

Hendrick Woodman:  Hendrick works in the Remote School Attendance Team in Halls Creek.  He understands the Urgency for Change and was quick to lend a hand to this initiative.  He has worked hard to get the new Youth Hub in Halls Creek up and running.  Activities are run three nights every week, sometimes attracting more than 100 young people.

Sadella Nocketta: Sadella has been an enthusiastic participant in Leadership development training.  She brings valuable lived experience, understandings, empathy and rapport to her work with families.

Musonda Chansa: Musonda regularly works back late and comes in to the office on weekends whenever the job demands it of her.  She never complains, just gets it done. She is also a patient and thoughtful guide and mentor to others following in her footprints.  Her calm and steady Diligence enables her to handle pressure, helping to ensure that financial administration runs smoothly and we all get paid on time!

Doug Winton:  Doug is the Driver Trainer based in Kununurra.  He demonstrates a capacity to work with a minimum of direct supervision, and under working conditions that are sometimes less than ideal.  Doug displays a high level of Accountability, taking ownership and responsibility for the achievement of outcomes. The service always meets its Key Performance Indicators and receives a ‘clean’ audit from the funding body.

Kristy Brittain: Kristy demonstrates a high level of Integrity.  She works hard to deliver Financial Wellbeing Workshops to a professional standard.  She brings multiple skills to her work, such as graphics and video production.  She is always generous in assisting others and walking the extra mile to ensure deadlines are met.

David Ross: David loves his role with the Governance Support and Leadership Development service.  We know because he tells everyone!  Barry, Alan and David regularly receive accolades from satisfied customers.  David works with a minimum of direct supervision and regularly shows initiative.   Recently David has taken the service into the Tjurabalan region for the first time, picking up clients at Mulan and Mindibungu.  David is nominated because of his contribution to Teamwork.  Everywhere he is prized for his relationship building skills.

Shivashankari Ganeshamoorthy: Shanky is a hardworking and diligent colleague with high Integrity.  She supports every part of Wunan through the IT and finance services she provides and is always pleasant, courteous and goes the extra mile many, many times over.

Shaun Cox:  Shaun is the Driver Educator based in Halls Creek.  He demonstrates a capacity to work with a minimum of direct supervision, and under working conditions that are not always ideal.  Shaun displays a high level of Accountability, taking ownership and responsibility for the achievement of outcomes. The service always meets its Key Performance Indicators and receives a ‘clean’ audit from the funding body every time. Shaun is not afraid to help out the RSAS Team whenever they are short staffed.

Alex Lek: Alex has been with iBase for almost three years now and during this time he has made significant contributions to the growth of the business. Alex is someone who always puts in the extra hours to go the extra mile in helping his clients out, even with matters that don’t fall within our scope of services. This is part of the reason why clients love him apart from his soft demeanour.  Out of Wunan’s five values, Alex radiates in his Diligence, Accountability and Integrity.

Alex is a team player, very knowledgeable and has a sense of humour which helps make sometimes boring work very interesting. Alex’s medium built shoulder is always occupied on both sides with clients and fellow staff members looking for emotional support to tackle their day to day challenges.

Marion Carpenter: Marion is a very helpful and well-respected member of the Kununurra Medical team, who goes out of her way to provide support and a quality service to customers.
