Spotlight on Wunan Staff- Debbie Cain

Debbie Cain is a Queenslander currently employed to do a program for Wunan in Partnership with EKJP and Kununurra High School. The program is to help build the participants understanding and knowledge of the school to improve school attendance and attainment with the students, build the confidence and skills of the participants to engage in employment and further training after the completion of the 16 week program. Each participant have either a child or grand child in the school and also want to just volunteer their service to help maintain a great education for the Aboriginal students.

Debbie’s role is to facilitate this program and she’s enjoying every minute of it. “I have met a great bunch of women between the ages of 19 to 56 who have managed to break down a lot of barriers to do this program.”

At the end of the program each will be given work experience in the areas of the school that they have shown interest in over the duration. Each participant will be given a Certificate of Appreciation at the end of the program. “I would just like to take this opportunity to thank EKJP and Wunan for letting me facilitate such a great program.”
