Living Change

15 July 2014

Living Change has recently been awarded $353,000 from the Commonwealth Department Prime Minister of Cabinet. This funding enables Wunan to continue to scope and develop Living Change, welfare reform model, in Halls Creek. The intent is to move the development of Living Change from a theoretical base and community consultation to implementation of a number of practical activities that reinforce the five social norms:

  • Children attend school
  • Young and vulnerable people are taken care of
  • Capable people participate in work or training
  • People take personal responsibility (uphold laws of the land)
  • People take care of their homes and pay rent

The funding will be utilised to commence a small targeted Living Change Family Support program, community and services survey and public awareness campaign.
