KEEP Student Makes NT Team

22 February 2019

Latifah Rogers has commenced in the Kimberley Education Excellence Program (KEEP) in our Dural House, Sydney NSW in term one of 2019.  Latifah joined the program to expand her knowledge academically as well as adjusting to new life experiences while she attends Pacific Hills Christian School.  Latifah sees Wunan Foundation’s KEEP program as a supportive network in helping plan for her future and aims to graduate the program with a set career goal.

Latifah not only has school commitments with her relocation from the Northern Territory but also elite netball potential, she received a number of supportive recommendations from coaches that lead to her being invited to join the Under 17s NT National’s netball team. Latifah passed phase one in the trials with flying colours, and then went on to continue phase two in Alice Springs, and despite having a broken hand at the time, continued to participate in any training she could.

At fifteen years of age, Latifah is the youngest on her team and speaks confidentially about wanting to grow and continue in the sport, and is due to travel to Brisbane, QLD in April to represent the Under 17’s NT National Netball team.
