Inspiring Young People

11 June 2015

Wunan’s Workforce Development Centre in Broome was recently involved in coordinating a four-day visit by one of Australia’s leading motivational speakers and career coaches, Nathan Hulls.

Hundreds of local young people, employers and educators took part in a range of activities during the visit, which was the result of a partnership between Wunan’s Workforce Development Centre, North West Expo, SHELL, Broome Senior High School and the Kimberley Regional Education Office.

Nathan Hulls’ message to local students was one of hope for the future. He has himself overcome significant life challenges and come out on top. Now he’s passionate about giving teenagers the tools they need to decide their own destinies and transform their lives.

Nathan spoke to the Principals School Leadership Conference and opened the SHELL Work Inspirations Program, where 60 Year Nine Broome students heard from eight industry representatives about their business, vision and employment opportunities.

At the Broome Senior High School Careers Day he gave an inspirational talk on Striving for Excellence and engaged all Year 10 students in a related activity.

Over 200 students benefited from Nathan’s insights at the Kimberley Training Institute’s VET Course Information Day, where a number of stakeholders, including the Australian Defence Force and the University of Notre Dame, also presented career information.
