On 6 December 2011, Wunan executive chairman Ian Trust was one of the keynote speakers at the inaugural UWA Business School Centre for Social Impact conference on Indigenous Business, Corporations and Entrepreneurship. Ian spoke about how Indigenous enterprises could leverage commercial investments to build a sustainable organisation that targets both economic and social outcomes, using the Wunan Foundation as an example of what is possible.   Read More

Little Nuggets & Hall Creek Children & Family Centre Wunan has appointed a Halls Creek local, Robert Reichel, to the position of Manager of the newly refurbished Halls Creek Children and Family Centre.  Wunan is proudly working with Little Nuggets Early Learning Inc and Save the Children to develop and operate the new centre in a way that meets the needs of the Halls Creek Community.    Read More

The eight students who travelled with Halls Creek local Jamie Elliot and his family to Dural in Sydney NSW to participate in the Dural Excellence Program returned home to Halls Creek for Christmas. The program has had lots of interest from local families keen to enrol their children in the program for 2012.  Partners in the program, Wunan, Dural Baptist Church, Pacific Hills Christian College, William Clarke College and Halls Creek High School will review intake opportunities soon.   Read More

The results are out for November 2011 and Wunan Job Services Australia have recorded a record month of achievements for the Job Services Australia (JSA) team. Throughout the month, 22 jobseekers reached the 13 week mark in employment (3 months) while a further nine reached 26 weeks (6 months). In addition, six completed education courses, with a further 13 clients starting education and 25 placed into employment. 2011 was a year of high productivity for the small but dedicated team of staff who have placed more than 240 clients into employment. Retention rates have also improved with further efforts being made to ensure as many jobseekers as possible are able to maintain their employment.
