Wunan is in the process of restructuring the Kununurra Home Interaction Program for Parent and Youngster (HIPPY) program with the anticipated funding that will be available this calendar year. The position of a full time Senior Support Worker will be available for members of the community to apply for.

The primary purpose of this role is to manage the day to day delivery of services on behalf of the Wunan Foundation in a functional area or in a geographic location.

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of HIPPY support workers advisors to implement community capacity building activities.
  • Managing and supervising a team of Job and Skills Advisors and administrative support workers.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including funding bodies and service delivery partners.
  • Modelling compliance with workplace health and safety responsibilities, including policies, operating procedures and instructions.
  • Advocating in support of the service in various forums.


This position will require the applicants to have the following skills: 

  • Microsoft skills for Planning, Data Collection and advocacy.
  • Be capable of community engagement.
  • Develop networks and partnerships.
  • Case management.
  • Write and develop programs.
  • Build a strong referral network.
  • Work with and motivate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.


The successful applicants must have:

  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Valid Driver licence.
  • Relevant previous experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
