Cherie recently joined Wunan as a Career Advisor at our Workforce Development Centre in Broome.

She is a descendant of the Bardi/Nyikina Traditional Owner groups from Lombadina/Djarindjin Communities and the Derby region.  Her immediate family are Sibosado/Gregory/Hunter/Watson mob throughout the Kimberley and beyond.

Cherie says as a Career Advisor, she loves being able to support and guide people who are exploring their career options – and ultimately being a part of their journey towards getting a job and changing their lives.

“I really enjoy being able to deliver a person-centred service that caters to the specific needs of our clients, their families and the wider community. It’s great being able to work creatively for a community organisation like Wunan,” Cherie says.

The life achievements she is most proud of are “having three awesome grandsons, who rule the world – and playing my part through my job and community involvement to contribute to making positive change.”

Cherie’s goals for the future are to continue to create change and opportunities in her community, successfully achieve her own personal goals, and live a happy, healthy life surrounded by the people she loves and cares about.
