Wunan recently entered into an exciting Indigenous tourism joint venture with well-known local tour provider Helispirit. Bungle Bungle Guided Tours will offer an Indigenous tourism experience for visitors to the region – as well as providing fantastic employment opportunities for local Aboriginal people.
As part of the joint venture, Bungle Bungle Guided Tours has recruited local Aboriginal guides who will take guests on half and full-day walking tours, providing them with a unique perspective of this truly spectacular world-heritage site.
Tour guests will be taken tens of thousands of years back in time to when Aboriginal people lived traditional lives on this land, and have the opportunity to immerse themselves into the spirit of this ancient place. BBGT’s Aboriginal tour guides will provide information about local bush tucker, Aboriginal customs and stories, and the varieties of plants and animals that live in the Park.
Feedback from guests so far has been brilliant, with one visitor from Melbourne describing the half-day tour as “the best thing I’ve ever done in my life”.
